those funny characters are actually THE MIGRANT WORKERS of CHINA.
They are situated in the grounds of the Shanghai Art Museum /They were created by a famous chinese artist Liangshuo. His migrant workers looked so miserable that I took them on a journey/well in my images/I completed 18 images and China actually sent them to Japan/Epson/ and now they are permanently housed in Japan.After Liang got over the initial shock of the "Journey of Dreams" series/ he found the situation quite amusing! He has created another series which are in Beijing.
