This past weekend saw my first ever RADIO debut...
On Saturday between 2-3pm Megaherzz is presented on 4zZz Community Radio in Brisbane. I am working with a team that alternate fortnightly to present the show Megaherzzz - feminist radio...

I have to say, it was a bit freaking excellent...
Not only do I get to discuss topics that are very important to me, I get to extend my creative skills to voice further...
and I get to announce songs... my first song announcement was "Crazy Train" by "the Waifs":http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewProfile&friendID=86339063... ooohhhh... one of my favourite bands (who I am seeing live in February as the back up to Ani Difranco: http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewProfile&friendID=85635629.... I am bursting out of my skin in anticipation)...
First we discussed the very important topic of our fucked up state's (that's Queensland btw, ironic that a state named after such an incredible female historical figure (Queen Victoria personally gave Queensland it's name) is so sexist, patriarchal and downright corrupt) judicial attitude to rape in our community and how to be aware of what's going on around your kids at Christmas time... The best thing about this is it is an extension of all the web stuff I have been doing over the past year...
In the new year we hope to grow the *\"Art Action Union\"* collective even bigger...
If you are in Brisbane and listen to the ZED's (which are freakin' legendary in Community Radio and Activism in the community arts (incidently, Triple J started Double J in Australia years and years ago modeled on the youth radio model that was so successful up here... even poached their presenters aparently)...
