United We Dance
Here is an excerpt of a workshop I recently conducted with girls from different ethnicities and cities in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The objective of the workshop was to bring together youth from different ethnicities through dance in an effort to promote peace throughout the region. Although 13 years have past since the end of the war, the bitter legacy of ethnic tension still lingers. The girls will soon be performing their own choreographies throughout the country in an awareness campaign which addresses problems affecting youth, such as segregation and poverty. All of the choreographies were conceived, planned and organized by the students during the workshop.
